Awards & Recognitions at Southern Surgical Arts

In the fall of 2009, Southern Surgical Arts and Carey Nease, MD, were honored to be selected as a finalist for Best of the Best Cosmetic Surgeon in Chattanooga, TN.  With a sincere focus of offering our patients the latest laser technology in facial rejuvenation and mommy makeover procedures, an artistic approach to cosmetic surgery and the experienced surgical skills of Dr. Nease, we were thrilled to be voted as Best of the Best and ready for our announcement;  Southern Surgical Art's newest expansion in the Southside Chattanooga!  

For the past two years, Southern Surgical Arts and Carey Nease, MD, were honored to be selected as the Best Cosmetic Surgery Center and Best Cosmetic Surgeon for Dalton, GA and the North Georgia area.  For the past three years, Southern Surgical Arts has had two state-of-the-art locations in Calhoun and Dalton, GA.  Calhoun has the AAAHC surgery center and Dalton features the satellite office.   AAAHC accreditation for surgery centers ensures patients that they their fully accredited surgery center like Southern Surgical Arts meets nationally-recognized standards of health care. 

Accreditation is a voluntary process through which an organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards. The accreditation process involves self-assessment by the organization, as well as a thorough review by the Accreditation Association's surveyors, who themselves have extensive experience in the ambulatory health care environment.

The AAAHC accreditation certificate is a symbol that an organization is committed to providing high-quality health care and that it has demonstrated that commitment by measuring up to the Accreditation Association's high standards.

Dr. Nease was chosen in 2009 by his peers within the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery to review articles in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery (AJCS).   The AJCS is the official publication of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society of Lipo-Suction Surgery, the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery, the International Academy of Aesthetic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine, the Japanese Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the Chinese Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine, the Italian Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the Australian Associate of Cosmetic Surgery and the Meso-American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

This quarterly publication features occasional special issues that address numerous state-of-the-art cosmetic surgery procedures, topics and breakthroughs. All are written by distinguished experts in their respective fields. The Journal maintains a tradition of excellence in publishing original manuscripts relating to each area within cosmetic surgery, including Otolaryngology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dermatology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Peer-reviewed manuscripts reflect the highest quality and leading edge of knowledge. 

In 2010, Dr. Nease was selected by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery to serve as a Board Examiner.  This distinguished honor allowed Dr. Nease to test incoming Cosmetic Surgeons to determine their qualifications to be Board Certified.
